A vibrant, inclusive, economically robust City of Hobart, where people proudly choose to live, work and invest.
To ensure Hobart becomes more inclusive and supportive, where no one feels left behind.
Born and raised in Hobart, I have spent my life dedicated to serving our vibrant city and its community. With a degree in accounting and over 25 years running my firm, Bloomfield & Associates, I bring extensive expertise in finance, governance, and the economic challenges facing local businesses.
As an Alderman of Hobart City Council, I advocate for responsible financial management, economic growth, and policies that genuinely support small businesses. My accounting career allows me to directly assist business owners, but serving on Council has enabled me to shape the broader environment in which these businesses operate. Small businesses are the heart of our local economy, and understanding their unique challenges informs my decision-making to help Hobart’s CBD flourish and thrive.
Beyond finance and governance, I have a deep commitment to protecting our aged and vulnerable community members. My late father was wheelchair-bound, providing me personal insight into the daily challenges faced by people with disabilities. Recognizing these barriers, I am dedicated to championing initiatives that improve accessibility, enhance services, and encourage stronger community connections.
Preserving Hobart’s distinctive heritage while encouraging sustainable growth is another key focus of mine. Our rich history defines who we are, and I believe careful, considered planning can successfully balance economic development with preserving our cultural and architectural heritage. A truly thriving Hobart respects its past even as it confidently embraces the future, creating opportunities without losing the charm that makes our city uniquely special.
Having spent most of my life in and around Hobart, I deeply appreciate both the challenges and opportunities we face together.
Transparency, accountability, and unwavering determination guide my role as Alderman.
